Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been a strong supporter of sports, tourism, arts, community welfare and education, among others. SIA believes that operating a successful airline involves contributing actively to the communities in which we work and live.
This year is the 50th birthday of Singapore, in order to celebrate its independence , Singapore hosts many programmes, and SIA as one of the most important sponsers. SIA supports kinds of programmes, and that’s beneficial for the communication between companies and the world. In April 2014, SIA became the Title Sponsor of the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX.
This is the second year to be sponsor of Formula One Grand Prix, the involvement of that is not just a name of the race, it brings the sports to the community and all the F1 lovers. It’s like a mission for SIA and also for Singapore, it helps Singapore as a world-class tourism, cultural and sporting event city.
The sponsorships are seems less developed in Asia than the West. SIA as a pioneers in this area must get higher feedback on that, the visitors and fans from all over the world,however, are indisputable.

Besides that, we can find that SIA done a lot for its country, this is from the cohesion of a country.

The primitively Singapore Airlines International Cup was held on March 4, 2000, and incorporation with the official opening of the new Singapore Racecourse at Kranji.
The Singapore Airlines International Cup is a Group 1 flat horse race in Singapore which is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at the new racecourse over a distance of 2,000 metres (about 1¼ miles), and it is scheduled to take place each year in May.
The huge bonuses S$3 million to win the race, has attracted the world best horses. Opening the Singapore Airlines International Cup was a moment that remarked the most important milestones in Singapore’s hores racing history. The first winner is a locally-trained, “OUZO”.
Because of the SARS in 2003, the race had stopped for one year. In 2008, the re-introduction of the sister sprint race, the KrisFlyer International Sprint, first staged as the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint in 2001 and 2002.
Singapore's champion sprinter Rocket Man atoned for defeats in the KrisFlyer International Sprint in 2009 and 2010 with a historic victory in 2011.
In 2012, the SIA Cup was captured by Chinchon, who improved on his fifth placing from the previous year. Singapore sprinter Ato snared the KrisFlyer International Sprint, with fellow local horse Mr Big finishing as the runner-up.
In recent years, Emirates Singapore Derby was in 1994, at that time, Emirates had put up $150,000 to add the prize to S$400,000. The champion was won by Noble Spirit, ridden by Oscar Chavez.
Today, the Emirates Singapore Derby forms the final leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge and brings together the cream of that age group. In 2009, Jolie’s Shinju won the Emirates Singapore Derby en-route to claiming Horse of the Year honours.
In 29th September 2015, the official website of Singapore Turf Club announced that Singapore Airlines International Cup and KrisFlyer International short race will close down . Closed notification indicates that the races in 2000 and 2001 were aimed at increasing the international reputation of the Singapore, as well as enhancing the level and quality of the local horse racing. Singapore Turf Club announced that the two games from next year will no longer continue to do since these objectives are reached.
